Distinction in FALLEN

‘take a look

and bless the day the Sun rose,

there,

and only there

in your Mothers womb

no time soon,

the mirror you kiss

will be the old Man you passed on the road,

in your mind

a tragedy of broken dreams,

camouflaged with pride

a setting for vanities alarm,

finished the Course,

with Distinction, in Fallen

but, here you are,

pert with lettered canes,

handsome grey and Pugs in the park,

dry champagne on your moonlit beach,

never without your guard,

or shadows that won’t flee

looking swell in polished glass,

blinding seventh Heaven:

the mirror you kiss,

that doesn’t look back,

from the other side

of old Men’s dreams’
